Ferrante Ferranti

Nato nel 1960 in Algeria, vive e lavora a Parigi. Si e’ laureato in architettura a Parigi nel 1985 con una tesi sul teatro e la scenografia di epoca barocca.
Autore di "Lire la Photographie" (Edizioni Bréal, 2003) e "L'esprit des ruines" (Editions du Chêne, 2005), ha pubblicato circa trenta libri di fotografie in collaborazione con gli autori Jean-Yves Leloup, Andrei Makine, Giovanni Careri , Shashi Tharoor e, soprattutto, Dominique Fernandez.
Ferrante Ferranti ha esposto le sue fotografie in tutto il mondo, da Arles a Zagabria, a Bogotà, San Pietroburgo, New Delhi, Tunisi, Aleppo e Montevideo. I suoi temi ricorrenti sono il periodo barocco in Sud America e in Europa
Nel 1992 ha esposto il suo lavoro fotografico a Parigi presso il Musée de la SEITA, al Centre Pompidou e al Petit Palais nelle mostre Brésil baroque, entre ciel et terre, and Mont Athos, nel 1999 e nel 2009.

Ferrante Ferranti was born in 1960 in Algeria.. He received his diploma in architecture in Paris in 1985 with a thesis on the theatre and scenography from the Baroque era. Author of "Lire la photographie" (Editions Bréal, 2003) and "L’esprit des ruines" (Editions du Chêne, 2005), he has published around thirty books of photographs with the authors Jean-Yves Leloup, Andrei Makine, Giovanni Careri, Shashi Tharoor and most importantly, Dominique Fernandez, whose Errances Solaires inspired this exhibition.
Ferrante Ferranti has exhibited his photographs the world over, from Arles to Zagreb, taking in Bogota, Saint Petersburg, New Delhi, Tunis, even Aleppo and Montevideo. His recurrent themes are the Baroque era, both in Europe and South America, Sicily, ancient ruins, the visual counterpoint between far-distant continents.
He was one of 15 Italian artists in Paris included in the exhibition at the Musée de la SEITA and at the Pompidou Centre in 1992 and exhibited his photographs in Brésil baroque, entre ciel et terre, and Mont Athos at the Petit Palais in 1999 and 2009.
